While we are proud of the of the signs we fabricate and install locally, we’re also proud to be a sought-after installation partner from many out of state, sign companies. We recently partnered with Archetype Signs from Minneapolis MN; on a project they were doing for their client Basecamp Fitness in San Mateo, CA. Initially, they were concerned about the installation pricing and had a bit of sticker shock when we told them what we would charge to install the graphics and the illuminated interior wall cabinet. This is not the first time we’ve gotten some pushback on our pricing from out of state companies. The fact is that labor costs in California, especially the San Francisco Bay Area are astronomical compared to other parts of the country!
Their project was quite a large one, and we had hoped that their client would be ready when we first arrived. However, the truth of the matter is that they still were behind schedule with other construction related items. For example, some of the doors that we would be applying vinyl graphics to had not been painted. This necessitated a second Trip by our installer, because the paint would have to cure before we would be able to apply those graphics. Not to mention, the owner being so overwhelmed with other construction related matters which meant that lots of time was lost waiting for a free moment to give our installers direction as to where specific signs needed to be mounted.
The illuminated sign cabinet was delivered directly to the end client, and we were there to inspect it for any potential shipping damage. The custom crate weighted in excess of 150lbs. Thankfully the sign was well packaged and crated to protect it from damage.
All things being equal, and despite a second trip as well as construction delays, we are pleased with how everything turned out, as is our fabrication partner Archetype. The client is weeks away from opening and we wish them much success with their opening and operation.
