SignWorks has long since espoused a different approach for than masonry monument signs that are built in place using bricks and/or cement.  These stately looking signs can be erected using faux stone in a much more cost effective fashion that is every bit as sturdy and long lasting!  Our wholesale vendor, Peachtree City Foamcraft is the nations’ premiere manufacturer of eps monument and architectural structures.  They have been fabricating amorized foam structures since 1991.  The sign panels and monuments are fabricated using High Density Urethane (HDU) and come in a variety of textures including simulated sandblast and wood grain finishes and a variety of stone looks that include simulated concrete.

The monument signs can be custom designed or selected from a set of standardized models.  These cost effective alternatives to traditional masonry monument signs are lightweight and made of durable eps foam to create eye-catching outdoor signs.  When completed they are sprayed with a special Poly-Amor hard coat that makes the sign impervious to rot, termites and moisture. Sign panels are also available and made in thicknesses from 1”-3” and sizes up to 4 ft. by 8 ft. or even larger by special order.

Installation is accomplished using two or more galvanized poles that are inserted into receptors built into the core of the sign.  These sturdy galvanized poles are then cemented into concrete footings below ground. In fact, there are reported instances of car collisions where the sign structure survived a full impact crash without damage!

Monument signs are used a lot for housing developments and large building structures like apartments and condominium complexes.  In fact, SignWorks has one such project in the works for a luxury apartment complex in the South Bay, but more about that later.  If you are a builder or building owner in the market for an affordable alternative to the traditional masonry monument sign, give SignWorks a call at (510) 357-2000.  Your pocket book will thank you!  To learn more about our company or our recent projects, just visit our website where you can view recent blog posts and photographs.
