SignWorks is thrilled to have been involved in helping to publicize the opening of Trader Joe’s new store in Newark, DE.  We had already sent the 180” x 34” Coming Soon Banner months previously, but our list of store opening tasks involved sending several other banners and signs for arrival by March 22.  This task consisted of sending five other 180” x 34“ banners; one referencing Opening Hours, the Now Hiring and Now Accepting Applications banners, A Fearless Flyer Banner and a colorful The Flyer has Landed banner.  A smaller logo banner measuring 60” x 24” along with two 24” x 18” aluminum Caution signs detailing the company’s staunch relative to shopping cart damage, were included with two store hour decals and two 24” x3” logo decals for the doors, along with four composting posters.

And, we’re still cranking out multiple orders from store across the country for 4” x18” interior Fire Extinguisher signs made from Styrene, 12” x 5” DO NOT BLOCK and NOT AN EXIT signs made of PVC as well as decorative Hibiscus decals in white and red that are used by store personnel to decorate the individual stores.

Trader Joe’s is extremely popular where I live and I and several friends shop there all the time.   The company’s products are well priced and I like their broad selection of fruits, vegetables, breads, cheeses, wines and so much more.  It all began in 1958 when Joe Coulombe took over a small chain of convenience stores around the LA area and called them Pronto Markets.  Ten years later it was clear that the convenience store formula needed some tweaking and Joe opened the first Trader Joe’s store in Pasadena, CA in 1967.  After taking note of the changing demographics Joe decided to leverage his G. I. Bill benefits to garner a better education after which he decided to deliver something different.  The nautical theme he developed has paid off and to this day team members consider themselves “traders on the culinary seas” and are known for their bright, tropical-patterned shirts and for generally being nice, helpful, and well informed.
