SignWorks has been working with staff at Pacific Plaza Apartments for over a year.  The evacuation maps for the project were delayed due to staffing changes and an approval process that became delayed.  The new staff members were managing the Fire Department approval process which was impacted by the staffing change.  Luckily the fire safety, ADA, exit and other interior property signs were all installed previously.

The footprint of the property is large taking up a full city block consisting of four buildings so 56 evacuation maps were required for the project.  Each was 14” by 14” and consisted of a digital print, oriented to the specific location, and with the required symbols and exit routes noted.  The prints were each covered with a non-glare lens as required by the fire department and mounted to a PVC backer.  As is our practice we sent layouts for the client to review and approve and then sent multiple paper copies for our client to take to the fire department for approval.

The process had been initiated months before when the fire department require our client to make several fire safety upgrades throughout the complex.  We began with a site survey which has culminated months later with the installation of the pictured evacuation maps.  This is the final phase of this large project and we are grateful to have been selected to do this work.
