SignWorks worked with staff at the Lake Chabot Public Market to update the hours of operation and other details for mounting on their entrance door.  The initial lettering was resized because the text would have been too small to weed from the backing material, causing the letters to tear.  After a few iterations, the resizing effort yielded lettering that could actually be produced and our designer was able to produce and install it as shown in the picture.

Cut vinyl lettering is a staple in the sign industry and is used by retailers (large and small), as well as small businesses and professionals who have storefronts.  The uses are varied but in many instances window lettering is used to convey hours of operation or list products and services offered at the location.  Sometimes the message is just the name and logo of the business entity.  Vinyl lettering is also used on company vehicles and fleets to deliver the company message.  It is a very effective way to advertise at a fraction of the cost when compared to television, radio or newspaper advertising.

It is important to consider optimal letter sizing using the 80/20 rule.  That is multiple the width of the glass door or window by .8 to determine the optimal size.  Lettering that is too small is difficult to read while oversizing the lettering makes it look crowded and out of place.  And, vinyl lettering and decals though considered permanent signage that lasts as long as the glass, is removal which is an added plus.  SignWorks has an extensive font library allowing you to select a unique lettering style that will help you and your business stand out.  We also have access to a variety of specialty vinyl’s including frosted, metallic, camouflage, to name just a few.
