SignWorks interacts with clients all the time on branding projects of one type or another and usually in the form of signage.  The important thing to remember is that branding extends not only to customers. but to the dynamics of your space and the environment you provide for customers and employees alike.  It impacts how employees feel about the space and their environment.  It can impact their work and can make tremendous contributions when it comes to productivity.  Providing a work space that is branded, nurturing, clean and inviting; one that reinforces the company brand and values, while still creating a safe and nurturing climate in which employees are encouraged to contribute, can add lots of dollars to the bottom line!

And, it’s not just about the company logo being used throughout the space or lobby, but rather reinforcing the values that the brand represents.   We recently completed a vending machine wrap at Humphrey’s University featuring a jungle theme on two machines.  One that dispensed snacks while the other dispensed drinks.  These machines contributed a fun theme in the employee space (cafeteria area) that on its own had little to do with the logo branding but rather the work environment. The effort was meant to communicate a fun and safe space where employees and visiting customers could partake of their snacks.

While wayfinding exterior signs may be great for helping clients and delivery personnel to find your location, and building logos and lettering help to confirm these location details, there are other branding elements that are just as important.  Take for example the folks at the Fogarty Institute who made several digital posters mounted to brushed aluminum panels that articulated their core values and ethics.  The posters create a memorable display along the hallway and corridor while telling customers and employees volumes about the corporate culture and environment.
