Large-sized dimensional letter building sign installation managed by SignWorks, Inc., Hayward, CA are much like other phases of commercial and industrial construction, from design and architecture to installation. With so many specifications, materials, vendors and subcontractors to manage, projects can be delayed by any number of glitches along the way. While delivering the project on time is always a primary goal, the most important thing is to ensure all materials and installation methods meet high quality and safety standards, even when that means a delay in completion.

One example is the final phase of SignWorks’ recent project for the Oshman Family Jewish Community Center (OFJCC), Palo Alto, CA, where three flag letters could not be installed due to the unique nature of the building’s construction. Because the exterior walls, constructed of steel covered with Jerusalem limestone, couldn’t be drilled into without damage, the flag letters had to be relocated and/or otherwise secured. In addition, installation of large sign letters that identify various entrances were delayed when the letters delivered by the manufacturer did not meet specifications for safe installation and had to be redone. Eventually the pieces of the project came together and the signs now contribute to the overall impression of the community center and people’s experience in navigating the campus.

SignWorks excels in sign project management and is contracted by construction firms and sign companies from around the country to manage local work for them. Our first project for the OFJCC, contracted by a Georgia-based architectural sign company, allowed us to demonstrate our expertise in the many challenges of manufacturing, transporting and installing large building signs. For subsequent signage needs, the OFJCC called us directly.
