We are happy to report that we recently completed yet another evacuation map project, this time for a local school. After a visit by the Oakland Fire Department it was clear that Dr. Herbert Guice Christian Academy would need some upgrades to their signage. This included identifying the room capacity count where required and various other lettering projects throughout the building. A more significant part of the project was developing the required fire safety evacuation route maps. Like many school’s one of the biggest concerns was managing the budget, so it was decided that school personnel would manage the permit process themselves.

Working with our customer we developed evacuation map proofs and copies for staff to take to the Oakland Fire Department for approval. Once we received sign-off on the proofs we began the fabrication process and developed second surface mount evacuation maps for the client. These were then installed at the various locations at the school in the orientation and heights required for compliance with the OFD requirements.
