SignWorks is getting ready to deliver three large post and panel signs for Tennyson Park in Hayward this week! The project, created for the City of Hayward Recreation Department, shows how our team continues to partner with contractors on custom signage that looks great, lasts long, and meets city specifications.
Right now, the millwork on the 8-inch cedar posts is almost done, and the final clearcoat finish is drying. Once the coating has cured, everything will be packaged and ready for pickup. Our contractor client will self-install the signs on-site and, with a little luck, will send us some completed project photos when the installation is done.
A Closer Look at the Tennyson Park Project
The new Tennyson Park signs are designed to reflect the natural character of the park while staying durable enough to handle weather and public use.
Project Details:
- Three large post and panel signs with matching designs.
- 8-inch cedar posts, milled and clear-coated for a smooth finish.
- Custom aluminum sign panels for durability and easy maintenance.
- Natural finishes to blend with the park’s outdoor environment.
This project is a great example of how SignWorks combines craftsmanship and engineering to deliver signage that looks great and stands up to everyday wear.

Our Work with Aluminum Cabinet Signs and Cedar Posts
In addition to the Tennyson Park project, our shop has been busy with several other contractor-driven jobs that use aluminum cabinet signs and cedar posts. These materials are both popular for public and commercial installations because they offer strength, weather resistance, and a polished appearance.
Aluminum cabinet signs are great because:
- They withstand sun, rain, and wind without rusting or warping.
- The clean edges and sleek look make them ideal for parks, facilities, and buildings.
- They can be painted or powder-coated to match city or corporate colors.
Cedar posts add a natural touch:
- They are strong, stable, and attractive, perfect for outdoor use.
- The grain and texture of cedar give a timeless, organic feel.
- When properly sealed, they resist moisture and insects.
By combining metal and wood elements, SignWorks delivers signage that balances beauty and durability — exactly what city projects and contractors need.
Working with Construction Clients Across the Bay Area
Many of our recent projects have involved partnerships with local contractors and developers who need dependable signage that matches their construction timelines.
Some examples include:
- Park and recreation signs – like Tennyson Park, where natural materials fit the setting.
- Housing and mixed-use developments – where we produce wayfinding, parking, and monument signage.
- Public safety and ADA-compliant signage – required before project completion and final inspection.
Contractors continue to return to SignWorks because we understand how signage fits into the final construction phase and how critical it is to get materials delivered on time.
From Design to Delivery: How We Get It Done
Our process ensures that every post, panel, and cabinet sign meets both visual and structural standards.
Here’s how we do it:
- Design Coordination: We review drawings, color specs, and mounting details.
- Material Selection: Cedar, aluminum, or composite materials are chosen based on environment and use.
- Fabrication: Our team handles cutting, routing, painting, and coating.
- Finishing Touches: Clearcoats or sealants protect against weathering.
- Delivery or Installation: We coordinate directly with contractors to fit project schedules.
Because many contractors prefer to self-install, we make sure every sign arrives labeled, pre-drilled, and ready to set in place.
The SignWorks Difference
At SignWorks, we know that great signage does more than identify a place — it reflects the quality and care behind the entire project. That’s why contractors, developers, and city agencies across the Bay Area continue to call us for:
- Custom design and fabrication expertise
- Durable materials built for public spaces
- Reliable delivery and communication
- Attention to city and ADA requirements
From the 8-inch cedar posts now drying in our shop to large aluminum cabinets headed for new construction sites, every project is a reflection of our commitment to craftsmanship.
Wrapping Up: Ready for Delivery!
As the clearcoat on the Tennyson Park posts finishes drying, we’re preparing for another successful delivery later this week. Once our contractor completes the installation, we hope to share photos of the signs in place — another proud addition to Hayward’s public parks and recreation spaces.
For now, our shop stays busy with the next round of construction signage, ensuring every client — big or small — gets high-quality, long-lasting signage delivered on time.
If you’re a contractor or project manager looking for a reliable Bay Area sign partner, SignWorks is ready to help bring your next project to life!
