Over the years SignWorks has helped a variety of businesses to craft dimensional letter lobby or reception area signs that reflected their vision for a welcoming space that communicated core values while at the same time exuded personality! After all, the reception area is the first experience that prospects and clients will have when first visiting your facility, so a good first impression is all the more important. And it’s also an opportunity to make sure employees can also embrace the culture and brand as reflected by this very visible first impression of the business.
Rather than simply focus on the basics, we thought we would share sone of our more unique and creative lobby signs and the messaging that is apparent in each design. Please also bear in mind that these individual business owners clearly had a vision of what they wanted to communicate about their establishments. To be honest, each of the lobby signs featured in this post represents a finalized design that we were asked to fabricate. While we did little in the design phase, it was important to be able to interpret the design intent and be sure to select the correct materials that would bring the aesthetic to life.
We often talk about the fact that an acrylic or other type of backer used with dimensional lettering on interior lobby walls makes it easier to maintain the space. Things like painting the walls, when needed, become much easier and the masking of individual dimensional letters, a time-consuming effort, becomes unnecessary. But let’s also take a look at applying a rich color to the underside of the acrylic because the effect can be stunning when paired with brushed or stainless-steel dimensional letters.
Or how about using metal plate material with the logo and lettering cut-out with soft lighting behind the panel, and with some wood accents. This created a stunning effect for the lobby area of Salt Breaker Restaurant in Alameda that was both warm and inviting.
We were also extremely impressed with the Geometer lobby sign that paired edgy blue metallic patterned panels with the company name/logo in brass. The effect was ultra-modern and edgy!
And for those of you who want to give a nod to earthly sensibilities, there is nothing preventing you from including earthly flora and fauna with your logo/lettering. Goodleap, did just that when they commissioned their lobby sign and came to us for their dimensional lettering.
