SignWorks has worked closely with Shoe Palace on a previous project and we were happy that they wanted to work with again on a more complex project. The project was much larger in scope and there were many challenges along the way. The vacant and badly worn metal sign frame required repairs and further inspection revealed that the housings for every single bulb were burnt out and that the entire sign had to be rewired. These tasks were not part of the original electrical sign installation project scope.

We initially started by conducting a detailed site survey to obtain and confirm measurements of the existing sign frame. Once that was complete, we generated a proof and rendering of the sign in place for our client to approve. This process ensures that the illuminated sign being proposed is accurate and exactly what the client has in mind.

Although the project took several months to complete, it had initiated months before during a period of historic rains and winter storms. This meant that scheduling the installation once the winter storms were over, was challenging given the extreme labor shortages. Contract installers comfortable working at those heights were in high demand and therefore in short supply.

The sign faces themselves consist of the company logo branding in red and black in the form of two Pana flex faces at approximately 18 ft. wide by 11 ft. tall. These were mounted to the existing metal frame several feet above the roof line of the building. Given that the installers had to reach the very top of the sign frame to stretch and fit the graphics to the frame, the process required the use of a 65 ft. articulating lift combined with lots of skill!

Though the sign took longer than anticipated, we are extremely proud of the finished sign and workmanship. We hope you will agree that the pictured sign turned out well.
