When Trinity Hardware approached SignWorks about branding the exterior windows at their Hayward location last November, we immediately swung into action. First, we did a site survey to confirm measurements and then we began working on approval proofs for their review. The project consisted of the company name and logo for the front and side windows of their commercial space.
Cut vinyl lettering and logo graphics are a very affordable way of branding a space and are frequently seen in retail spaces where branding is supplemented with promotional advertising and messaging. With the advent of commercial spaces with glass windows and doors, it is prevalent among all types of businesses, especially on entry doors where many businesses post their hours of operation. Cut vinyl lettering is an easy, inexpensive and attractive way to let customers know when the business is open.
For businesses that house many professionals at the same location, like a medical office, cut vinyl letters can be used to list the names of all the practitioners at the location.
Vinyl window graphics and lettering can be done in standard vinyl colors including black or white, or in custom printed colors to match your brand. The typical size allocated to front door lettering is usually no more than 25 by 25 inches, however, it takes practiced hands to install vinyl graphics correctly. And, if we are removing old graphics, we must first saturate the old vinyl with isopropyl alcohol and then scrape off the old lettering using a razor blade. Once the glass is clean and dry, the new lettering must be centered, leveled, and then taped in place. Once aligned, our installers squeegee the graphics and new lettering from the top down and carefully remove the paper backer.
In urban areas where there is a higher risk of graffiti, the window graphics are mounted on the inside of the windows vs. the outside glass.
