SignWorks recently completed two 6” by 6” safety signs that will allow our client to provide vital safety information to first responders and maintenance staff when the need arises. Compliance with safety ordinances help to keep people safe and inform them where critical power and solar equipment is located. The signs were shipped directly to the client for self-installation by their maintenance staff.
As a company SignWorks continues to stay abreast of ADA signs (Americans with Disabilities Act) and other ADA compliance related signage guidelines across several localities. And, when we are in doubt, we don’t hesitate to get in touch with the local planning and/or fire department for clarification. This is critical for clients with facilities that are open to the general public, because failure to provide access to the facility for those with disabilities can be considered discriminatory, regardless of who it actually affects. Along these same lines we produce a significant volume of Fire Extinguisher signs for retailer Trader Joe’s for their stores located across the country. We produce lots of them each and every week!
Our work in the ADA arena has included several very large sign projects. We produce lots of ADA compliant and fire safety signs, including the 20 story building renovation at 75 Hawthorne Street in San Francisco, the renovation work at one of the GAP buildings in Pleasanton, and much more. Working with Turner Construction we completed the signage for the Oakland Airport BART Connector project which involved supplying several ADA signs. Past projects also included an apartment building renovation project for Pacific West Apartment in San Leandro requiring several ADA signs and evacuation maps.
