When the client contacted us they were attempting to solve a storage problem. They needed a way to label a series of metal bins (pictured) to store things like used oil and other chemicals. We had not worked with them previously and they were unsure if we worked with magnetics. Normally associated with temporary signs used on vehicle doors for branding, magnetic signs can be used to perform a variety of other labelling functions as well.
Magnetic signs can be used in industrial environments and warehouses to catalog, store and label a variety of materials stored in drums, bins and racks provided that the magnetic is adhering to a metal surface. In this case the client needed a total of five 24” wide by 6 inch tall magnetic strips for their facility in Oakland where they perform maintenance on Federal Express delivery aircrafts. Once they approved our design proof, used to make sure we had not introduced any typographical errors, the prints were made and mounted to the magnetic material. The entire project took just a few days.
The versatility of magnet strips and the ease with which they can be moved and repositioned makes them extremely easy to use and they are also very affordable. If your environment could use some help in tidying up, cataloging items or getting more organized, then magnetic strips may be just the solution for you.
