SignWorks continues to work with Trader Joe’s and they have several new stores opening across the country. As a company they are way ahead of the game when it comes to branding and messaging. The company uses promotional banners to announce that a new store is opening as evidenced by their 180” wide by 34” banner that reads, “COMING SOON” along with the Trader Joe’s logo in their custom stylized font. The banner package that we send closer to the time a new store is opening consists of five other large banners that document operating hours, the fact that the store is hiring, accepting applications and the like. Another smaller logo banner that measures 5 ft. by 2ft. is also part of the banner package. We also send two each of two smaller red cut vinyl decals that are pre-masked. One has the stores operating hours in red and the other consists of the logo which is mounted on the glass doors.
And, there are and continue to be demand for large banners across many sectors including residential and commercial venues. Everything from athletic events, graduations, company promotions and picnics, promotional events and grand openings, just to name a few!
The founder, Joe Coulombe, began the company in 1958 when he took over a small chain of convenience stores around the LA area. They were called Pronto Markets. Ten years later it became obvious that the convenience store formula needed a little tweaking so Joe decided to open his first Trader Joe’s store in 1967 in Pasadena, CA. Aware of the changing demographics Joe decided to use his G. I. Bill benefits to go after a better education. At this point he then decided to deliver something different and the nautical theme he decided on certainly paid off! Team members at the stores still consider themselves “traders on the culinary seas” and are known for being nice, helpful, and well informed. Their bright, tropical-patterned shirts add a very nice touch!
