Working with the design staff at ballonSTUDIO has culminated in a dimensional letter lobby sign that is statement worthy and SignWorks is excited to have played a role. We have worked with their designer in selecting the font (Helvetica Light, and brass finish, very light oxidized). The amazing textured background was already on on-site and our talented installers added the dimensional 7” tall brass letters (pictured) which made for a stunning visual effect. The client, Geometer, clearly has a statement piece for their lobby that exudes very good taste and extraordinary visual interest.
Like many sign fabricators, we use Gemini (www.signletters.com) to source our dimensional letters because the letters carry a life-time warranty. This is very important to our customers and of value in guarding against potential defects. Gemini is a primary supplier to many sign fabricators and they supply molded plastic logos and lettering, as well as flat cut acrylic and metal letters. They also supply cast metal logos and letters in a variety of thicknesses and metal finishes, these include aluminum, steel, brass and bronze finishes. In addition, Gemini carries a variety of plaques that include raised and recessed lettering as well as precision tooled and etched.
Over the years we have found Gemini’s staff to be extremely professional and easy to work with. In fact, we find their website very rich with product content and will sometimes send customer’s there if they need to compare product types or want some guidance regarding available standard fonts or finishes. Gemini also works with custom fonts when required by corporate marketing departments.
ballonSTUDIO has been in operation since 2003 and is a San Francisco based full service interior design firm. The founder, Sabra Ballon, has designed hotel interiors in San Francisco, Hawaii and Las Vegas for Hotel Nikko, Hilton Hotels and many others.
