We were extremely surprised that the client, Conexwest, had delayed getting the container lettered until a week prior to its departure. That being the case and given that they wanted it painted vs. lettered in vinyl, we were forced to prioritize this job over several others. When the client contacted us we were given a logo to replicate and we began the approval process by submitting an art proof to our customer for approval. Evidently, the border surrounding the logo (though approved during proof submission) was not meant to be there. This meant that our first attempt at painting the black logo/motif had to be painted over. In addition, the client had neglected to mention that the container was corrugated, which required several adjustments to the pattern we created to allow for the indentations in the metal material the container was made of. Though the project was ultimately completed in a timely fashion (less than a week start to finish), it was none the less one of our more challenging projects!
Sign painting is a dying art, but fortunately SignWorks has a veteran sign maker on staff who has more than 30 years of industry experience as evidenced by the picture of the logo painted onto the container. He was able to make the template and adjust it for the corrugation so that the lettering appeared normal to the eye after adjusting for the unevenness in the material.
