When Saf Keep Storage approached SignWorks about their promotional banners they went to great lengths in explaining their dissatisfaction with the previous vendor.  They had ordered double-sided pole banners and in each instance what was delivered didn’t fit.  It was either too small or too large and each time they asked the vendor to do a site visit to confirm measurements, it simply didn’t happen.

Our first step, given the client’s needs, was to make sure we performed a site visit and obtained the measurements we needed.  While at the facility we observed the heavy traffic and high winds in the area and suggested that we add wind slits which would allow better air flow and prevent the banners from tearing or acting like a sail.  These 35” wide by 72” tall double sided banners (pictured) are a great way to promote an upcoming price promotion.  And, we produced a total of four banners using 18 oz. banner material that can be printed on both sides.  There are two more pole banners that will be used at a later date for a future promotion.

Saf Keep Storage is family owned and a premier storage facility offering many storage solutions to individuals and to small and commercial businesses. They are committed to making sure every customer has a positive experience so they work hard to ensure safe, secure and clean storage facilities as well as top notch service!  They operate in California and Hawaii.

Banners are considered to be a staple item at most sign companies.  They cover a broad range of needs.  These include event advertising, like birthday’s and book fairs, sporting events, retail sales and Grand Openings for local businesses.  At SignWorks, we have produced small banners for parties and local events, as well as large ones like the one that is used annually to announce San Leandro’s Library Event.  We re-letter and update the date and time every year.  That being said, we know a thing or two about banners and their effectiveness as a promotional or brand building tool!

When you’re planning to use a banner for an event be sure you have thought about how you plan to mount it.  Will corner grommets be enough or do you need them spaced around the entire edge to have multiple connection points?  If it’s a large street sized banner, how much rope is needed at the corners for attachment?  And, what about wind vents to prevent the banner from behaving like a huge sail?!  With building banners, heavy duty perimeter grommets are an essential means of attachment and prevent the material from tearing.

When you need your banner in a hurry or if you need some other type of sign product like a banner stand, A-Frame or back drop, we hope you’ll think of us as the local go-to source!  You can reach us at (510) 357-2000 and we’ll explore your promotional or event needs and create a timeline.
