The SignWorks team was pleased to connect with the City Of Palo Alto on yet another project. This one involved working with staff to create two commemorative precision tooled aluminum plaques, each measuring 14” x 5” for commissioned art pieces. We are thankful for this repeat client and have worked with them in the past on a variety of sign project, including aluminum facility signs and signicades with inserts. They are always a delight to work with!
Once again our go to source and preferred partner, Gemini, was selected to fabricate the plaques primarily due to their pass through lifetime warranty and the exceptional product quality. The finished plaques were shipped directly to the client who sent us the attached picture of one of the plaques mounted in place.
As I’m sure you know plaques come in a variety of styles including raised lettering with recessed background, laser etched, and precision tooled. When plaques have lots of graphic detail, a Giclee print can be used and mounted to the plaque, which allows for the inclusion of art elements and shading that is not allowed with traditional plaques. These art elements are then sealed with a clear coat.
