SignWorks talent base includes an in-house sign painter. Though this process is now being replaced with wall vinyl, it is still used on some building facades to spell out the name of an entity and sometimes the building address or number. On heavily texture wall surfaces it can be a blessing and will last longer than wall vinyl which is also popular. Most of the vinyl manufacturer’s offer a vinyl sheeting material designed to adhere to heavily textured wall surfaces so paint vs. vinyl can be more a matter of choice. Each has it pluses and minuses. Paint can fade more quickly when exposed to bright sunlight, while cut vinyl letters can lift from the surface in damp conditions, especially if it is not properly installed. The attached picture illustrates a large hand painted wall sign at a San Leandro stone manufacturing facility.
