SignWorks is pleased to report that we were sought out to design and fabricate a commemorative plaque honoring a former San Francisco Superintendent of Parks.  The San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department thought it fitting to honor his Barney Barron’s 14 year tenure which ended in 1992.   They opted for a 14” x 10” bronze plaque with raised lettering and a recessed brown background. We got to work on the proof and sent it for the necessary approvals.  Our preferred partner, Gemini, offers a pass through lifetime warranty on all their products so the decision on who to work with on fabrication was an easy one.  We are including a copy of the approved art proof as the plaque was shipped directly to the client who has promised to send a picture at a later date.

Plaques come in a variety of styles including raised lettering with recessed background, laser etched, and precision tooled.  And, for plaques with lots of graphic detail, a Giclee print can be used and mounted to the plaque, which allows for the inclusion of art elements and shading not allowed with traditional plaques.  The art elements are then sealed with a clear coat.  Gemini has been producing dimensional logo’s/letters in flat cut, fabricated and cast acrylic, flat cut, fabricated and cast metals, injection molded plastics, plaques in a variety of metals, illuminated lettering, and much more for over 50 years.  They are recognized as an industry leader based on the quality of their products and the life time warranty they carry.
