SignWorks  was happy to assist when Laughlin Falbo, Levy & Moresi LLP called to say that their San Jose office was moving to a new location.  Initially, the client was intent on reusing the dimensional letter lobby sign at their existing location.  However, once our technician visited the site to make a pattern for the lettering it was determined that the old stud mounted lettering would be difficult to reuse.  The labor involved in removing stud-mounted lettering, compounded by the risk of damage to the letters, can make for a more arduous and expensive task than simply buying new ones.

In the end we determined that ordering another set of their 4” tall brushed metal laminate (mounted to acrylic) would be the better option.  Since the work is for a repeat client with artwork on file, we contacted our wholesaler, Gemini, and placed the lettering order.  Once we had the lettering in hand we scheduled the installation such that the lettering was in place prior to the client’s June 3 move date.  We also spackled the holes associated with taking down the lettering at their old location.

When it comes to dimensional lettering there are many options including flat cut metal letters in aluminum, acrylic, brass, bronze, stainless steel, and Cor-Ten steel.  Other options include cast metal dimensional letters and logos, and formed plastic and injection molded letter faces.  GemLeaf and laminate lettering mounted to either foam or acrylic, round out the selection.  And, based on the pass through warranty offered by Gemini, our wholesale supplier, we proudly offer the same lifetime warranty.
