SignWorks had been working with the property management staff over at the Majestic Apartments and the completed post and panel graphics was found to have an orientation error.  Management and reviewed and approved the graphics but had given our design staff the wrong orientation for the building.  This was not caught until after the original installation.

After meeting with our team we decided that the most economical approach to correcting the error was to apply a block out layer of vinyl and overlay the incorrect print with a new one.  Disassembling the panel from the posts and transporting the sign panel back to the shop would have added another layer of complexity and the associated labor charges.  Correcting the problem with a new print in the field was far more cost effective.  Our challenge was the weather since rain and wind can make applying vinyl very difficult.

The sign panel is constructed of MDO (a wood like panel) that is primed on both sides.  The new laminated vinyl print was applied and then edge sealed with white paint.  The 5 ft. wide and 3 ft. tall sign panel is mounted between two treated posts (4” by 4”) covered with white decorative post sleeves and caps to give a more professional and finished look.  As you can see from the picture the directory sign has a finished appearance and will last for years to come. It will help visitors to navigate the property and find their way.
