SignWorks recently completed the aluminum parking accessible signs for Cahill Contractors renovation project at the Coliseum Transit Village. While the signage aspects of the project are not completely finished, the aluminum parking signs and oversized evacuation maps represent in-house projects for SignWorks. The project includes a variety of other sign types, including a dimensional address sign in ½” thick brushed aluminum (lettering that is 12” tall and produced by our wholesale partner, Gemini). We use this wholesaler to produce the majority of our dimensional letter sign projects due to their industry leading production standards that include a life time warranty! The project also includes a variety of ADA (Americans with Disabilities) Braille and tactile signs,
We were recently informed that we can proceed in producing the 15 evacuation maps that were approved for production by the Oakland Fire Department. The non-glare acrylic lens and optically clear adhesive used in the production of the signs, has already been ordered. We will do a separate post once these signs are complete and ready to be installed by the Cahill team.
We are working diligently with our ADA (Americans with Disabilities) wholesale partner to expedite the ADA compliant braille and tactile signs needed to complete the project which consists of several interior ADA signs including 114 unit identification signs, 24 room identification signs, 17 stairwell signs, 18 non tactile stair identification signs, 31 exit signs, several restroom signs and an assortment of other interior braille and tactile signs in assorted quantities and sizes. This excludes the 15 Evacuation Maps scaled at 24” tall and 19” wide that SignWorks will be fabricating in-house. As a company we continue to be experts in the creation and fabrication of evacuation maps.
This particular project represents our fourth direct project with Cahill Contractors. We have worked with them before and indirectly through other contractors. The Coliseum Transit Village reflective accessible parking signs (Engineering Prismatic vinyl in ADA blue with white cut vinyl letters) that are visible at night. The vinyl is mounted to .080 thick reflective aluminum blanks as pictured. The parking signs also include a 24” tall by 18” wide parking restriction sign in white reflective vinyl and black lettering for night-time visibility.
