SignWorks was notified today that the submittals for the interior ADA (Americans with Disabilities) signs, dimensional  letter and the aluminum parking signs have been approved for production with the corrections as noted.  The only remaining items pending approval are the evacuation maps which have been approved by the Oakland Fire Department but await a final walk through inspection.  The project represents a sizable order and includes ½” thick 12” tall building address numbers in aluminum that are being fabricated by Gemini, our go-to wholesale partner for all dimensional letters and plaques.

We are working diligently with our ADA wholesale partner to expedite the project which consists of several interior ADA signs including 114 unit identification signs, 24 room identification signs, 17 stairwell signs, 18 non tactile stair identification signs, 31 exit signs, several restroom signs with an assortment of other interior braille and tactile signs in assorted quantities and sizes.  This excludes the 15 Evacuation Maps scaled at 24” tall and 19” wide! Our company continues to be an expert in the creation and fabrication of evacuation map signs.

This Cahill Contractors project represents our fourth direct project with Cahill.  We have worked with this construction company indirectly through other contractors who brought SignWorks in as the specialty vendor to provide signage on a couple of Oakland school renovation projects.  The Coliseum Transit Village project also requires five aluminum accessible parking signs which SignWorks will produce in-house.  These reflective signs are visible at night and will be done in reflective vinyl (Engineering Prismatic vinyl in ADA blue) mounted to .080 thick aluminum blanks.  We will also supply a 24” tall by 12” wide parking restriction sign using white reflective vinyl and black lettering for night-time visibility.

Cahill contractors is a local Bay Area company that has been around for over 100 years.  They have the financial bidding and bonding capability for projects ranging from small tenant improvement and renovations to very large high rise buildings!  Their projects span the commercial, health care, housing and education sectors and are of varying sizes and scope.

SignWorks has worked extensively with small and large construction companies (as well as property owners and managers), on building renovations requiring ADA signs, parking restriction signs and dimensional letters.  If you are renovating a building or building a new one we would like to be the company you call for your ADA signs, fire safety, evacuation maps and building signs.  Just give us a call at (510) 357-2000 and we’ll help you determine what is needed for your project and the associated compliance issues.  We will work with you on design, fabrication and installation while offering a budget friendly solution.
