SignWorks was thrilled when we were contacted by a sign veteran to remake the pictured Winston Village sign that had deteriorated over the years. The original sign was made of wood so we talked about the options for remaking it in either wood or High Density Urethane (HDU). After considering the superior wear characteristics of HDU, which is impervious to rot, bird droppings and is more environmentally friendly, our client decided on HDU. She will hand paint the sign herself and we’ll post a picture once we receive it from her.
The sign as shown in the picture is 36” wide and 28.5” tall and 1.5” thick. It contains matching scroll detail as supplied by the client and noted in the proof. Once approved the production took only a few weeks, since the sign would be painted and installed by the client. The typical production cycle is 5-6 weeks, including the paint process. These types of signs are especially appropriate in woodsy, natural settings and are an excellent choice for the outdoors where they can last for a very long time.
