We have helped to manage their sign program to the extent that when one tenant leaves the Vale Road property (and the directory and door sign needs to be updated), we provide the required services.
There are a few steps to the process, so once a tenant vacates we send a technician to retrieve the door sign and directory slat. For the most part we peal and weed the vinyl from the directory slat and create a new face for the suite or door sign. Sometimes the former tenant takes the entire door sign with them to their new facility and we have to work with suppliers such as Johnson Plastics to replicate the door sign assembly and insert. This was the most recent scenario and we’re happy to say that other than the two week wait on the door frame assembly, everything went according to plan.
From the perspective of a commercial property manager, it’s great not to have to replicate the original signage for a property that you’ve managed for years. Designs change so finding a vendor who can take the time to find and replicate the existing signage design elements and frames can mean a significant cost saving!
