We have been working with Lanikai, a commercial property management company based in Southern California, for a very long time. They manage the Creekside Plaza property at the corner of Davis and San Leandro Boulevard in San Leandro. The building houses several government agencies, a bank and a variety of other commercial tenants. Renovations to one of the buildings has resulted in the need for additional ADA compliant signs and called for matching the teal colored signage that the tenant was already using. Let’s face it, colors that are not an exact match, would trivialize the space and make for a very unprofessional look.
We were not the original sign vendor so we asked for a sample sign which we shipped to our wholesaler to identify and/or match. Once the paint was matched we proceeded with the proofing process for the ADA tenant identification signs measuring 9” by 6” and 8” by 4”. There are 14 in all and each features Braille and tactile (raised) lettering like the color match sample pictured.
The project took some time given the upfront color calibration that was needed. The signs will arrive soon for installation in the very near future. SignWorks has worked with several clients, including the Superior Court in Hayward to match the color palette of ADA signs that were already there. Introducing a new color would be very expensive when taking into account the cost of redoing the signs that already exist.
SignWorks understands the ADA guidelines and works closely with several wholesalers on Braille and Tactile signs. Having access to multiple sources and styles of ADA signs allows our clients to create aesthetically pleasing ADA signs or to match existing ones. We work with contractors and property managers alike to produce ADA compliant signs in a timely manner for new construction and renovation projects alike.
