SignWorks has a wealth of experience in designing and fabricating interior lobby signs, especially dimensional ones. Company’s large and small want to create a lobby or reception area sign that is welcoming to clients and employees alike. Dimensional lobby signs are a frequent choice. Sometimes it is as simple as mounting the company name, spelled out in lettering that is from ¼” to 1” thick directly to the wall (as shown in the above picture), or sometimes the letters are applied to a backer, often made of clear acrylic, which is then mounted to the wall using stand offs. We’ve designed and fabricated both.
Lettering and logo choices include flat cut acrylic, a variety of metals including aluminum, bronze, brass and stainless steel in many finishes, or formed plastic. Metal laminate mounted to either foam or acrylic, round out the options. Gemini, the leading wholesale supplier, does an excellent job with dimensional signs and offers a lifetime warranty on all the products they supply. The even offer a variety of metal plaque options.
We have some favorites. The Excel Mortgage & Realty dimensional logo sign mounted to a backer (which incidentally makes future repainting of the wall much easier from a sign removal perspective), and the Commerce Labs lobby sign, a direct to wall mounting. The first was designed by others and it was our job to replicate it based on a picture and the supplied measurements (52” X 24”). We especially liked the back painted acrylic backer and the contrast between the burgundy color and the brushed aluminum lettering and stand offs. The second lobby sign pictured utilized the company name embellished with orbs to simulate the idea of a think tank, along with placards for partner companies that would occupy the space. Our designer was told to think edgy which we believe he did!
