When local food supplier, La Terra Fina, had their exterior post and panel sign damaged in a collision they decided that now would be a great time to switch out their exterior signs. The new logo had already been approved so our designer got to work laying out the two new signs. Both the smaller 36” wide by 28” tall exterior DiBond sign and the larger 96” wide by 28” tall double sided signs, are set between wooden posts. Hence the term post and panel sign. The larger sign (not pictured), had damage to the existing posts. This meant we had to dig out the old footings and replace them with new concrete footings and posts.
The old signs had had raised dimensional lettering on their DiBond face, but this time the owner’s decided to economize and use vinyl lettering instead. Our site survey revealed that the client had neglected to tell us that each of the signs consisted of two separate faces but this was corrected early in the process with only slight delays to the original schedule because the second face for each sign had to be fabricated. This made rescheduling the installation necessary.
Post and panel signs come in a variety of different styles, including colored (painted) sand blasted panels set between two posts. These are very prevalent at beaches and parks and in rustic natural settings. The real estate industry uses large post and panel signs to advertise available commercial leasing building space where visibility at eye level to passing cars is essential. We also do a variety of wooden (MDO) style post and panel signs with vinyl and/or raised (dimensional letters) in acrylic or metal mounted to them. Project Identification signs used in the construction industry also fit into this sign category.
