We would like to think weâre perfect but unfortunately weâre not! Though the landlord for this San Leandro light-industrial complex has had us paint and install their tenants metal fascia signs before, lots of time had elapsed. Like all growing companies the installer who did the original work had long since moved on so the task fell to someone else. The client supplied a paint code for the Applied Refrigeration Services signsâ background color which we then took to our local paint supplier. Vista Paint âGrand Grapeâ as it turns out is specific to a particular brand and hence the sign panel background color was initially painted the wrong color, despite our normal proofing process.
The sign panel had already been installed but once the error was discovered we contacted the out of area Paint Company and made arrangements to get the correct color paint. We accepted full responsibility for the error and weâre happy to report that Sacramento based MacLaughlin and Company is pleased that we did not engage in the blame game. Our designer/installer had no frame of reference for the lilac looking background color which he had questioned during the proofing process, especially after the client confirmed it again.
