Working with government agencies is one of the many services we provide. When there was a need for ADA signs and prints (ADA Decals) for courthouses in Alameda County, CA, as well as signage products for the jails, the professionals at SignWorks were available to take the order.
Signage Solutions for Courthouses and Jails
After meeting with the official in charge of commissioning the signs, we drafted the required proofs for authorization. The Alameda County Superior Court was in need of replacement ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) signage in the judicial chambers of the Fremont, Oakland and Hayward venues. We coordinated our efforts with the facilities’ management team. There were already existing ADA signs that would remain in place, which required us to take a sample during our site survey to ensure a perfect color match.
We manufactured 42 ADA California Type 2 Braille judicial chamber signs as well as 20 window signs that allow for paper inserts. They present with a non-glare coating. Moreover, we made signage in keeping with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA). Fifty-five of them display in English while another 55 display in Spanish. Our in-house designer is fluent in Spanish and was able to correctly translate the signage, eliminating some errors that appeared there. Once completed, the signage met the requirements of the law and integrated well into the existing sign setup that is already in place.
Must-have Signs for Businesses
While English and Spanish ADA signs and decals for Alameda County, CA, courts and jails must meet the letter of the law, the same is true for private businesses. Depending on the size of your company, the time you have been in business and the setup of your office or store, you may also be required to display ADA signage. Yet before you commission these products, contact our experts to come out and conduct a site survey. We can inventory the signs you have, point out which ones you are missing and highlight where you would need to mount them. We work with you to put together a look that meets the tone contrast standards but can still incorporate your company’s colors.
The niche you are in and the type of business you run determine other must-have signs. For example, manufacturing firms have different signage needs than preschools or food handling venues. A financial services office will have sign requirements that vary significantly from those of a medical office. Our experts can help you discover what signs you need to display now and which ones you might budget for at a later time. Planning your marker expenditures in this manner ensures full compliance with the law while being easy on the pocket book.
Commissioning Signage Suites
That said, the majority of our clients do prefer to order all their signs at one time. These signage suites contain everything from ADA markers to lobby signs, window graphics and posters. If you like to order your products in this manner, we work up a sketch that shows you how the various products harmonize.
