Some projects are just plain old fun and creating this unique dimensional lobby sign for San Francisco based LendUp was an over the moon experience. The client had seen a brushed aluminum contour cut sign and had the presence of mind to send us a picture. They of course wanted to use their own logo and color scheme and resisted the brushed aluminum backer due to budget considerations.
This local non-profit offers non-traditional loans and financing and because they are a relative new company, they insisted that the sign be budget friendly. They also knew that the letters had to have depth or be dimensional. The other challenge was that the sign had to mount to a brick wall, and the method of attachment could not damage or put holes in the brick.
The final result is pictured above and shows the mounted sign. We used a 3 mm piece of Sintra with a blue background and surface mounted the dimensional letters to the backer. The additional backer and contour cut gave additional depth and flair to the sign without busting the budget.
