In many instances a tenant or building directory can be created using engraved signs. This process is used to “etch” away some of the plastic (or other substrate) background to form the lettering elements of the sign. Often this “etched” or engraved look adds dimension and gives a stylized look that appeals to certain customers. Often, the selection happened during the tenure of a previous owner or property manager, and though there have been many tenant transitions, it was simply more cost effective to update the directories by replacing outdated tenant information with a new updated engraved insert. Engraved signs can also be used for desk and individual door and cubicle signs which can be produced using either a router or laser.

SignWorks offers both new directories including frames, lens and inserts; as well as individualized replacement inserts that are either lettered in vinyl and/or engraved to match an already existing directory. We have a wide variety of sources, so matching a particular style to preserve a certain “look,” does not pose a problem.
