Cast vinyl is manufactured using a different process than calendered vinyl. Though the two vinyls appear similar, they actually function differently. Cast vinyl is the more appropriate choice for vehicle graphics. Despite its premium pricing when compared to calendered vinyl, cast vinyl is less likely to shrink due to exposure to the elements and is much more durable. Furthermore, the vinyl will carry a more appropriate warranty. Customers should be aware of the differences, especially when they are quoted bargain basement prices for full and partial vehicle wraps. Often, the reduced price is because calendered vinyl is being used and/or the vinyl graphic itself is not being over-laminated. See the chart below (from signindustry.com) for a more detailed comparison.
