SignWorks was recently approached by our local Costco store to solve an interesting problem. Evidently, the garbage trucks were not easily distinguishing the trash receptacle from the compost receptacle. This led to mistakes regarding how these two categories of waste were being disposed of. The retailer wanted an economical solution that would enable the driver to readily distinguish the regular waste from the compostable trash. The solution was two large heavy duty pvc signs with the words “Trash” and “Compost” in large red letters. The signs were drilled in the corners so that they could be easily mounted next to the appropriate receptacles.
Similarly, Sierra Monitor needed to be sure that deliveries were routed to the receiving department located across the parking lot. Rather than continue to have delivery drivers block the main reception area when they stopped to get directions, signs with arrows and appropriate copy were constructed to directed delivery personnel to the receiving area across the parking lot. In addition, the new receiving area overhead signage made it easier for suppliers to deliver to the right location without having to stop at the reception area for directions.
