{"id":6474,"date":"2018-11-17T11:38:29","date_gmt":"2018-11-17T19:38:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/signworks.us.com\/?p=6474"},"modified":"2018-11-17T11:38:29","modified_gmt":"2018-11-17T19:38:29","slug":"oakland-ca-evacuation-maps-fire-safety-signs-rossi-building-renovation-nears-completion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/signworks.us.com\/2018\/11\/17\/oakland-ca-evacuation-maps-fire-safety-signs-rossi-building-renovation-nears-completion\/","title":{"rendered":"Oakland, CA \u2013 Evacuation Maps and Fire Safety Signs for Rossi Building Renovation Nears Completion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.signwoks.us.com\">SignWorks<\/a> was approached by the property management at the Rossi Building.\u00a0 They had heard that we were experts in the creation of evacuation maps and could help them as they approached completion of the renovations to the Rossi Building.\u00a0 The owner is for Europe so the design palette is contemporary and edgy.\u00a0 They have been working with a boutique architectural firm and needed our guidance relative to fire safety requirements.\u00a0 Initially, it was thought that only eight evacuation maps would be needed.<\/p>\n<p>We scheduled a site visit to confirm the specifics for the building.\u00a0 After walking the building we determined that the evacuation map count was 15 and that the building would also need 8 stairwell signs to comply with local fire safety guidelines.\u00a0 The site visit also confirmed the location of fire related equipment and the egress path details.\u00a0 Other details, related to the evacuation map elements, were later supplied by the architects.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past weeks we\u2019ve been working with the in-house design team and our wholesale vendor on material selection for both the stairwell signs and the 14\u201d X 14\u201d evacuation maps.\u00a0 While they opted to stay with our standard evacuation map featuring a non-glare acrylic lens.\u00a0 The chose a 12\u201dwide X 15.5\u201d tall matte white acrylic stairwell sign with black text.\u00a0 They thought this would offer a clean monochromatic look that would not detract from the buildings clean minimalistic look.<\/p>\n<p>After several rounds of editing by their team and ours we are just waiting for the architects to approve the evacuation maps so they can be submitted to the Oakland Fire Department for approval.\u00a0 The stairwell signs have already been approved and are currently in production.\u00a0 We estimate that the project will be complete in the next few weeks and will be posting installation photographs soon.<\/p>\n<p>SignWorks is proud to have produced evacuation maps for several buildings in Oakland and for a Gap facility renovation in Pleasanton.\u00a0 \u00a0We\u2019ve made evacuation maps for three separate location in San Francisco including San Francisco Muni, and for a hotel in Palo Alto.\u00a0 While each has differing guidelines we have familiarized ourselves with each one. \u00a0Please give us a call at <a href=\"tel:510-357-2000\">(510) 357-2000<\/a> if you are renovating or building a new structure.\u00a0 We would like to be the company you call for your evacuation and fire safety signs.\u00a0 \u00a0We can help you quantify how many maps you\u2019ll need and schedule a site visit to your building.
