When Cahill Contractors first approached SignWorks about their upcoming project they had envisioned oversized decals of the company logo sized to accommodate the large corrugated metal building used to house construction equipment and supplies in their Oakland yard.  The building is a metal shell and is not insulated, so the thought was to directly apply the logos to the exterior metal building.  Unfortunately, when corrugated surfaces are involved, the deep grooves can make even the fattest letters disappear into the many gullies and obscure the font in some weird ways!

As a contractor, the company was concerned about attaching a sign that would involve screwing or bolting sheeting material to the structure, primarily because of rain or water intrusion problems.  We explained that rubber washers, when used properly would alleviate this problem.  Eventually, the client decided on two large DiBond signs, one sized at 15 ft. by 5 ft. in two panels, and the other at 8 ft. by 3 ft.  DiBond is an aluminum composite material used frequently in the sign industry.

Both signs would use the standard Cahill corporate logo and branding that has been in place for several years.  While we still don’t have pictures to display showing the actual signs in place, you can see from the initial rendering and approval proof, that these large exterior signs will do the job in branding the Cahill Oakland yard.

While this is SignWorks first time working with Cahill, we have worked with several construction companies to provide exterior building and yard signs, including project identification signs, safety signs,  building and roadway signs.  We have also supplied vehicle graphics, decals and logo flags.
